Annual Meeting of the FOL Featuring From Tiffany to Chihuly: Masters of Glass Art
Thursday, May 216:00—8:00 PMOff Site: See Description For Details

Have you ever learned something new at a program at the library, used a library pass to visit a local museum at a discount, or relaxed reading a newspaper or book by the lit fireplace? All of those above activities and so much more were made possible with support from the Friends of the Library. Show your support at their annual meeting and enjoy refreshments and an amazing program. Whether you are a member of the Friends or not you are invited.
The Friends of the Manchester Public Library, run entirely by volunteers, is an active non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Library’s collections and programs through membership, memorial gifts and book sales. Since their formation in 1960, the Friends have contributed furnishings and equipment, museum memberships, and many other services and resources. You can connect with the Friends at FOML@manchesterpl.org.
About the Program:
Discover the luminous world of glass art, where molten sand transforms into breathtaking works that capture and refract light in ways that seem to defy the very nature of solid matter. From Louis Comfort Tiffany's jewel-toned stained glass windows that turned churches into cathedrals of color, to Dale Chihuly's explosive blown glass sculptures that bring the ocean's mysteries to museum galleries, to Dan Dailey's whimsical figurative pieces that blend fine art with storytelling magic. This program illuminates how fire, breath, and imagination combine to create some of the most spectacular and ethereal art forms known to humanity.
