September is Hunger Action Month™, which offers an opportunity for communities to come together to address food insecurity in the cities and towns where we live, work, and play. One simple way to help is to "Go Orange" for Hunger Action Month. Put on your finest orange shirt, pants or accessories for Hunger Action Month and share a photo of yourself on social media. Tell others about the fight to end hunger using the hashtags #HungerActionMonth and #EndHungerNow.
To highlight Hunger Action Month and the connection between food insecurity and environmental instability we will come together on Tuesday at 5PM to make Dehydrated Citrus Garlands. There will be mulled cider and snacks as we wind together dehydrated fruit and twine to hang on your door or in a window. This is an all ages craft, so bring the whole family.
Want to make some at home? Check out the library's food dehydrator.
Communities Responding to Extreme Weather or CREW's Climate Prep Week is from September 23-29th. This year's theme is "the intersection of climate change and the broader social justice movement" To see more info and events occurring all across the country for Climate Prep Week visit: climatecrew.org/2023_climate_prep_week.
