CREW WEEK: MBTS Zero Waste Challenge Kick Off

You can register online at anytime for the Zero Waste Challenge but those who attend the kickoff event from 1-3PM will get some free swag, can find more info on how to divert their trash from the landfill, can create an eco friendly craft and share some mulled cider. 

Prizes Include:

  • Essex River Cruises Voucher
  • 7 Seas Whale Watch Voucher
  • Unpacked Living Gift Certificate
  • Black Earth Compost CHaRM (Collection of Hard to Recycle Materials) Recycling Subscription 
  • Cider Hill Farm Apple Picking Voucher
  • Captain Dusty's Ice Cream (Scooped for everyone who participates at the weigh in on 9/27 from 3-5PM)
  • Bravo by the Sea Pizza (1st come 1st served at the kick off event on 9/21 from 1-3PM)

Everyone who participates will win a prize and our environment wins too!

Register here or in person at the library and begin trying to recycle and reuse as much as possible whenever you register. You don't have to be perfect to be better about recycling!

Did you know that the average person throws out approximately 5 pounds of trash a day? The Manchester-by-the-Sea Sustainability Committee and the Manchester Public Library invite you to join us in the 2024 Zero Waste Challenge

Bring whatever trash you collected between September 21-  27 at 3:00-5:00 PM bring your trash bag to the Sustainability Committee table at the library to have your trash weighed.

The household with the lowest weeklong trash accumulation will receive the honor of being Manchester-by-the-Sea’s 2024 Zero Waste Champion! Winners will be mentioned in the Cricket and local media.
