Join Kellie Dodd for a step by step presentation on success for starting seedlings indoors. She will focus on spring and summer annual flowers, and talk about her favorites to grow for the bees and beauty in a vase.  Kellie will walk us through when & how to begin, how to care for seedlings, through planting out. Discover a few resources for planning your planting and sourcing material. Seeds truly are magic and the time is now!

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a gardening talk and the opening of the library's seed library for you to take home free seed to get started.

About Kellie Dodd: I am the founder & farmer for POSY florals, a local cut flower farm based in Manchester & Peabody full time 2021-2024. I am a graduate of the Floret Flower Farming Course and throughout my time as a farmer, a member of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower farmers where I continued my training. At it's peak, POSY was sustainably farming 2.5 acres of specialty cut flowers April- October in Peabody. Our majority sales were wholesale to florists throughout the North Shore, Boston and Cambridge, but it was our local and loyal CSA members who made it all possible year after year. In 2025 I closed the farm and returned to work full time in Biopharma, I continue to start seedlings and grow flowers for the beauty, health and the joy of it!

POSY would not have been possible without the local CSA members, who paid for their subscriptions in the winter to fund the following farming season, and received bouquets all summer long! We had an especially large and lovely group in Manchester who picked up at the Laughing Gull each week, and many neighbors continue to grab a bunch when I roll the flower cart out on Pleasant street in the summer. I am delighted to have the privilege of sharing my passion for plants and flowers with my local library community!
